    About

    Christina Melander is a community-engaged researcher and community practice social worker. Her research and advocacy focus on issues of sex trafficking and sex trading, and the structural inequalities and health equity issues undergirding these social problems.

    Christina seeks to surface community wisdom on root causes and solutions so that we can act together to catalyze social change. She has co-authored numerous reports on sex trafficking in Minnesota, including the Safe Harbor for All Strategic Planning report to the Minnesota Legislature.

    She comes from a diverse background in social services and community organizing, including working with sexual assault/domestic violence survivors, homeless populations, and immigrants in the Chicago and Twin Cities areas.

    Christina has a Master of Social Work from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor's degree in sociology from The University of Chicago.
